Attendance Management
Attendance management has become such a significant area of workplace management, that it is offered as a stand-alone course. Everything related to attendance is covered from innocent to culpable absence to formal programs to address bad attendees. This can include positive approaches to improving attendance. Upon request, we will also discuss alcohol and drug use protocols, particularly for employers with safety sensitive workplaces.
Necessarily, we also review the duty to accommodate those absent because of disability. This leads to a discussion of the law of frustration of the employment contract and the relevant provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000.
Case examples are used to enable managers to understand how to approach actual problems.
