The passing of Bill 47 brought many changes to labour and employment law. One of the changes is a revised Employment Standards Poster that must be displayed in every workplace.

Under the new legislation, every Ontario employer subject to provincial law must display this poster in their workplace in a manner that makes it accessible to all employees. Employers must also provide a copy of the poster to all employees. New employees must be given a copy of the poster within 30 days of hire.
Where the predominant language of a workplace is not English, a version of the poster in the dominant language (if available) must be posted alongside the English version.
Employers should be aware that posters sold by private companies do not comply with the ESA posting requirements. If you are approached by a private company purporting to sell ESA posters, you should call 1-800-531-5551.
Changes to Posting Requirement (Bill 66)
Bill 66, which passed first reading in the legislature, will remove the requirement to display the poster in the workplace. However, employers will still be required to provide a copy to all employees in accordance with the current law.
Until Bill 66 is passed, all employers should display the poster in their workplace.
